Celebratory Opening of Tshokolo Primary School Library
Cultivating a love for reading in children is a lifetime gift. Maya Angelou beautifully captured this sentiment when she said, "Any bookthat helps a child to form a habit of reading, to make reading one of his deepand continuing needs, is good for him."
South African students often need more encouragement to read at home or in their communities. Eco Children establishes libraries and implements reading programmes to enhance and promote literacy skills in our partner schools.
On 4 March 2024, the Tshokolo Primary School Library was officially opened. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Holder Family Foundation for generously sponsoring four libraries in our partnering schools. Christopher Holder joined us for this momentous occasion and cut the ribbon alongside our chairman, Deon Huysamer. This library will undoubtedly pave the way for a brighter future for many children.
With the support of the Holder Family Foundation and the dedication of individuals like Christopher Holder, the Tshokolo Primary School Library is not just a physical structure but a symbol of community unity and a testament to the power of education. It is a sanctuary where dreams take flight, aspirations are nurtured, and the love for reading is sown in the tender soil of young souls.
May this library be a haven of inspiration, a hub of learning, and a gateway to a world of endless possibilities for the students of Tshokolo Primary School. Together, let us continue cultivating a culture of reading, one page at a time, one heart at a time, building a brighter tomorrow for future generations.
“Sowing seeds of change.”
